Southern Oaks Bridge Update

Big things are happening at the Southern Oaks Bridge as the last of the beams that span across the Florida Turnpike are being set into place. We checked in this month with Tommy McDonough, director of development, and Keith Waugh of Leware, to learn more about the final nine beams that are being lifted and set into place, as well as learn a little more about this new bridge coming to The Villages.

In addition, Tommy also gives us an update on when folks can expect to see the intersection opening up at Marsh Bend Trail and US 301, and the Buena Vista Boulevard extension.

The Southern Oaks Bridge is located just south of the Sawgrass Grove area, running along Bexley Trail between the two Southern Oaks Championship Golf nines. This bridge will accommodate automobiles as well as golf cars and take folks from the areas just north to the new Villages, Eastport and south – expanding the connectivity of our community.
